Synchronicity
Synchronicity
There is a tempo for everything, as you decide to ride on the wind you can feel the momentum of your sails set and aligned with the squalls and gusts that bring you to your destination. The minutiae of drops and ebbs and flows of the flow of wind is generally smoothed by the steadiness of the wider pattern weaving its gusts. Creating your own rhythm through life can be similiar in the sense that it is easier to not get caught up with the little highs and little lows that might displace your enthusiasm or overall sense of direction, but to stay focused within the wider patterns of reality which you create for yourself. Set your heading, account for the currents and challenges or obstacles, and maintain momentum.
I have always found meditation a useful practice, but having been a very active boy since early childhood, the being still part was hard (never did I participate in nap times). However 7 years of Qi Gong really got me going strong internally, and the initial draw to it really propelled my curiosity. Sitting downstairs in a share house a bunch of us budding Osteopathic students were in for a conference, I remember letting myself fade from the conversation a few others were engaged in, to observe quite a strong eminence of white light projecting through from the ceiling above and down through the floor in the centre of the room.
“ Anyone else see that white light going through to the floor” I asked
Shakes of heads, and no, from the others.
Not perturbed by being the only one to see something I decided to head upstairs as it did seem to be coming from above. Right there at the end of the upstairs room, where the light was coming from was our older colleague with his eyes closed doing some super slow movements and in some sort of meditation. Fascinated by this sequence of events, I sat and watched for nearly an hour, until eventually the practice ended and my mate Shayno opened his eyes and said “Haydos! How are ya?
What was that I said? Enquiring about the light.
Oh, so when we practice Qi Gong, we collect the Qi and send and connect through to the earth 9ft underground.
Well that made sense why it went down through the floor now!
But amazed at not only did someone in the room above me set an intention to collect energy in the form of Qi, but that they could so accurately contain that and then direct it, and, I could see it clearly! I’d seen other things before but this was interesting because it was generated from someone.
Since then I started a daily practice of Qi Gong that went for several years, and then gradually shifted from the practice to
implementing the principles of Qi (Chi) into day to day life.
The ability to utilise these principles, aligned well with what I have tried to achieve in practice which is finding the natural rhythms of the body’s healing mechanisms, feeling my way into things like loving bone marrow, stem cell production and central nervous system regeneration. Sending a pulse of Qi through an organ to boost metabolism, or creating a central fulcrum for an organs functioning of Qi that aligns with its gravitational alignment also to enhance function, to sensing the finer connections of the dendrites in the brain and how the flow of chi/Qi or life energy connects externally with those nerves and the orientation to the healing response/parasympathetics to find a balance whereby the mind connects with health and growth/regeneration in harmony with the ecosystem.
Working with and developing my skills with Qi Gong both complemented and enhanced my healing Osteopathy practice and made for a rewarding positive impact on my life and others. Having that grounding experience of visual input from Qi, generated by an individual, and confirmed to me by them gave confidence and trust in the intuitive senses which we can develop and curiosity to explore further our capabilities.
